Designed for use on
86-7 Turbo Regals
(will fit 84-5 Turbo Regals as well but will need some modifications to
fit, flange is different on 84-5 cars so suggest using our 3" test pipe
and modding the end to fit the hot air down pipe. The exhaust
hanger on 84-5 is also different but we have been running our 87 GN
without a hanger for years without issue. System i supported well
at the rear of the mufflers and is much lighter that the stock system.)
Do NOT buy this system for an
84-5 Turbo Regal
unless you are willing to do some fab work from
the front of the system to the downpipe connection!
This is a 3" polished stainless steel catback exhaust system for the Turbo Regals. All hardware and
clamps are included. Mufflers are a straight thru design for
ultimate flow. I installed one of these
systems on my own GN. Did it in my garage without a lift, can be a
little tough to do but it is possible. If you have access to a
lift it would be a lot easier! Some trimming of the pipes and your
downpipe MAY be needed. My GN is lowered quite a bit so if your
Turbo Regal sits at stock height you should be fine. Sounds really
nice! I upgraded from a Hooker 2.5" catback system and
it is louder than that system but NOT obnoxious at all until you really
hit the gas! As a bonus, this system is actually about 18 lbs
lighter than the Hooker system it replaced!
May be some interference with drag
style rear sway bars that attach to the frame due to the end link
location. Will work fine with all stock style rear sway bars.
Below are some pics from a customer who has successfully installed this
exhaust system with the HR Bar.
Below are some more closeup pics of the above
installation. This customer states that he did not have to modify
the system to get it to fit with the HR bar. Your installation may
vary.

Below are some pictures of the installation on did on
my own GN. Notice that I used stainless steel step band clamps at
all connections. I recommend using them as it makes it easier to
adjust the system and to remove it intact if so desired. The
traditional clamps you see in the pictures below were just used for the
hangers. I am now offering the step band clamps as an option in
the drop down menu below. If you choose this option you will
receive 4 of the band clamps in addition to the regular clamps included
with the system.
Tailpipes have been redesigned for even easier installation! They
no longer use the stock hangers to the front of the gas tank. They
now mount to the rear frame rails. The main weight of the system
is supported by the hangers directly to the rear of the
mufflers.
