1987 UNREAL X - SOLD!!!!! 1987 Buick Turbo T (GNX styled Pro Touring car)

Regretfully for sale due to the death of my good friend Dave Steeves who had owned this car since 2015. When Dave bought the car, it needed a lot of TLC and cash to bring it to the condition it is in now. It is better than it was originally built in my opinion. Many may recognize it from being featured and on the cover of the November 2001 issue of GM High Tech Performance magazine. Factory built as a 1987 Turbo T it was turned into a pro touring style car and made to look like a GNX with flares, fender vents and emblems. It does not have a GNX rear suspension though. I came up with the idea of the name UNREAL X when Dave bought the car since it is NOT a GNX but it is UNREAL! Please NOTE! I removed the roll cage when I discovered that the welding on it was not done very well and Dave wanted a cleaner interior look. Unfortunately, Dave passed away in August 2018 and was just beginning to really enjoy the car. I offered his wife my services to sell the car since I have many connections in the Buick world with my business TR Custom Parts. The majority of the work was done by me, Mark Hueffman. Transmission and the rearend rebuilding was handled by Bison's Performance, if you are knowledgeable of the Turbo Buick world I am sure you have heard of him! Dave entrusted me to help him bring the car up to date. I spent many hours working on it by straightening out all the mess from various owners along the way since it was sold by the original builder. Though he had owned a GNX and also a T-Type in the past, those cars were totally stock and Dave basically did oil changes and regular maintenance on them. He had been out of Turbo Buicks for a few years but was itching to get back into it with a modified car and I like to think this one was his favorite of the three Turbo Regals he owned. Looking for it to go to a good home where it will be enjoyed and driven. Please bear in mind, though the car does have some miles on it, take a look at all the components that have been replaced on the car in the short time Dave owned it. He had over twice the asking price in the car. Just tried to price the car at a fair amount and want to ensure the new owner that they will have a fast car that handles like it is on rails with a truly unique look. Pretty much the only thing left from the original build are the paint and bodywork, the Baer Brakes and Recaro seats! I know it was modified in Arizona and Car Fax is showing it having about 98,500 miles on it when titled in Feb 2001. Looks like the car was sold to someone in NY, then Wisconsin and then to New Hampshire where Dave bought it from someone I had known from Buick events in the Northeast over the years. The 145 mph speedo put in the car now shows mileage at 40,679. I really don't think a ton of miles were put on the car since it was modified back in 2001 so who knows? What I do know is that every major component on the car has been either rebuilt OR replaced since Dave owned the car. VIN NUMBERS
