New "Stock
Appearing" Overlays
Here is another item we just came up with. After much
searching my engraver could not come up with an exact color match for the stock
GN glovebox plate BUT we have come up with a "stock appearing"
solution. This overlay is made out of the same material as the STOCK
main dash and radio area. Glossy black with pinstriping and here is the
cool part. We have cut out holes in the overlay to allow the GN and Buick
logo to show thru. Installs with supplied double tape.Of course this will
not pass scrutiny from the stock purists but it does offer a simple and low cost
alternative to finding a decent stock replacement for the entire glovebox
plate. (not easy and expensive if you can find one!)

| These panels compliment our dashboard kits and look great! PLEASE NOTE! Due to the
strange shape of the stock glovebox plates these overlays do not exactly fit
over the entire surface of the existing plate. This will not be noticeable
to the casual observer. I wouldn't have one on my GN if it didn't look
good! If you look at the stock panel it looks like a plain old
rectangle. If you measure it you will see that it is anything but! ONLY
the Buick Motorsports logo will cover the entire length of the
panel. All other logos are positioned to the right of the panel.
Simulated aluminum panels will have black outline engraving.
Effective immediately, we will no longer offer
clear-anodized aluminum. In it's place we will offer an imitation brushed
aluminum/plastic material. It's very similar in appearance to clear
anodized aluminum, and all engraving will be a high-contrast black.
Reasons for the change include: clear anodized aluminum is getting VERY
expensive, it's difficult to work with, is sometimes inconsistent in
appearance, and must be hand painted if black engraving is desired. We've
been making Oldmobile dashboard and other items for quite some
time using the imitation aluminum with good results and reviews.

IMPORTANT NOTE!
THESE GLOVEBOX PLATES ARE FOR GOING OVER THE STOCK FLAT
PANELS COMMONLY FOUND IN THE 84-7 GRAND NATIONALS. IF YOU HAVE A STOCK
PLATE THAT IS SUNKEN AND HAS A LARGER RAISED BORDER AROUND THE PERIMETER WE WILL NEED TO KNOW THAT UP FRONT SO WE CAN MAKE THE
PROPER ONE FOR YOU! THOSE TYPE OF PANELS ARE USUALLY ON PLAIN REGALS OR
LIMITEDS. BELOW IS A STOCK EXAMPLE OF WHAT WE MEAN BY A SUNKEN
PLATE. THE PLATE FITS INSIDE THE BORDER AND MEASURES APPROXIMATELY
1.75" X 14".

OEM Material Glovebox Plates

| These plates attach over the
existing panel located above your glove box door. Strips of special double
tape are already installed on the back of the panels. Just peel off the
backing and position in place. They are made in the same material as the
original panels of your main dashboard, hence the OEM or (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
designation. The logos are actually engraved from the back of the panel
and then hand painted. The front surface is totally smooth! The plates can
be made with your choice of the Buick Motorsports with the Power 6, Grand
National intercooled or Plain for the Hot Air , T-Type OR Turbo-T logos. NOTE!
The Buick Motorsports logo can be engraved to fill up the entire panel
on the OEM panels only. It would be the size of the logo on the aluminum panels at
the top of this page. |
